INS Sunayna, deployed for an extensive mission in the South West Indian Ocean Region, arrived at Port Louis, Mauritius on June 20, 2024, marking a significant milestone in its operational journey. The journey to the harbor was punctuated by joint maritime surveillance activities conducted in collaboration with Mauritius Coast Guard's Ship Barracuda and MPF Dornier, aimed at bolstering cooperative security measures within the Mauritian Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
The vessel was warmly welcomed upon arrival by MCG Dornier and the Mauritius Police Force Band, setting the stage for a three-day visit filled with a diverse range of engagements. These included professional dialogues, community-oriented initiatives like medical camps, and spirited sports events, all designed to strengthen ties and mutual understanding between the naval forces of India and Mauritius.
A highlight of the visit was the joint Yoga session held aboard INS Sunayna to celebrate the International Day of Yoga 2024. This special event, conducted in partnership with MNCG Barracuda, brought together over 200 participants, comprising Indian Navy personnel, members of the Mauritius National Coast Guard, and guests from the Indian diaspora and High Commission of India.
