As a nation born from so many ethnic origin, Seychelles are a celebration of the
diversity that makes Africa so fascinating to the world. Within this diversity, the spirit of
Africa guides us towards a future full of promise and opportunity
Amidst the challenges and opportunities that lie before us, reaffirming our commitment
to fostering cooperation and solidarity in advancing the collective future of Africa is
necessary.
The dynamism and potential of our continent are indeed awe-inspiring, with a youthful
population brimming with promise and an abundance of opportunities awaiting
exploration. Its admission of the African Union to G20 marked another milestone in our
history constituting another important tool to ensure stronger collaborations.
In this spirit, the 2024 theme, "Educate an African fit for the 21st Century" underscores the importance of building resilient education systems providing inclusive, quality and
relevant learning opportunities for all our African youths.
By coming together in solidarity to prioritize education, we equip our people with the
knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in the ever-evolving landscape of the 21st
century.
Seychelles, very proud of the highest literacy rate in sub-Saharan Africa around 96%,
stands as a beacon of educational achievement and remains dedicated for more
collaboration with our African counterparts to ensure a brighter future for all through the transformative power of education.
In marking this special Day, let us renew our commitment to unity, progress, and
prosperity for our loved Africa.
