During the meeting on the sidelines of the G-7 Summit in Apulia, PM Modi expressed appreciation to PM Kishida for his congratulatory wishes on assuming office for the third consecutive term. Emphasizing the importance of India-Japan bilateral relations in his new term, PM Modi highlighted their enduring partnership, now in its 10th year, and both leaders acknowledged the significant progress made. They discussed avenues for deepening cooperation across new and emerging sectors, affirming their commitment to enhancing business-to-business (B2B) and people-to-people (P2P) ties.


India and Japan are actively collaborating on transformative projects like the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail, set to revolutionize mobility in India. They also reviewed Japan's planned 5 trillion yen investment in India from 2022 to 2027 and the India-Japan Industrial Competitiveness Partnership aimed at strengthening manufacturing collaboration. The bilateral meeting served as an opportunity to assess the advancement of these strategic initiatives.


Looking ahead, both leaders eagerly anticipated continuing their discussions at the upcoming India-Japan annual summit, emphasizing their shared dedication to further bolstering the comprehensive partnership between the two nations.
