The Royal Norwegian Consulate General in Mumbai participated last week at Techfest, IIT Bombay 2024, one of Asia’s prominent technology festivals, to showcase Norway’s leadership in technology, innovation and sustainability.
Unique to this event was the engagement of the Norwegian graffiti artist Simon Alfredo to promote Norwegian innovation and technology through his art using Jotun paint!
This unconventional approach created awareness and curiosity about Norway as a technological and innovative player, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Consistent feedback from participants emphasized how the graffiti project triggered conversations and increased engagement towards Norway as a country and a potential place of employment!
With a Norway Pavilion and a dedicated Country Session, we spotlighted cutting-edge Norwegian solutions in sectors such as digitalization, maritime innovation, and waste-to-resource technologies.
Highlights from the Country Session:
Collaboration and innovation in academia and business by Elisbaet Strand Vigtel (Innovation Norway Asia and the Middle East).
Digital and AI innovations at Aker Solutions by Mr. Girish Dalvi.
Turning sludge into resources by Dr. Ashish Sahu (Cambi).
Hull skating solutions by Mr. Mukesh Shukla (Jotun).
Sustainable maritime solutions by Ms. Annette Holte (Kongsberg Maritime).

To round off the day, Team Norway engaged with local stakeholders during a networking hi-tea, paving the way for future collaborations.
Participating in Techfest allowed Norway to connect with India’s dynamic tech ecosystem, strengthen business ties, and attract talent to Norwegian companies. The evening’s Christmas celebration hosted by NBAI added the perfect festive touch, fostering even more networking opportunities!
Norwegian Embassy in India expressed gratitude to Techfest, IIT Bombay, for an incredible platform to build bridges and innovate together!
