Manika Jain IFS, appointed as the Ambassador to Romania.

Manika Jain, (IFS 1993 batch) presently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to Romania. She is expected to assume her new role shortly.

Previously, Manika Jain held the position of Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Cambodia starting in 2017. Before that, she served as the Consul General of India in Melbourne starting in 2013.

Manika Jain's career has been rich and diverse. She has served in Indian Missions in Portugal, Myanmar, and Indonesia, gaining extensive experience in international diplomacy. At the Ministry of External Affairs Headquarters, she undertook a significant deputation to the Ministry of Commerce, where she worked in the Trade Policy Division, specializing in matters related to the World Trade Organization (WTO). Additionally, she has held pivotal roles such as Director at the Indian Council of World Affairs and Head of Division at the Foreign Service Institute, New Delhi.
