The Consulate General of Israel in Bengaluru played an instrumental role at the Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS) 2024, with an engaging booth that brought together leading figures from Israel's diverse industries. Key sectors such as healthcare, mobility, and education were showcased, with a particular focus on fostering collaboration between Israel and India in the tech space.
The initiative was led by Orli Weitzman, the Consul General of Israel in Bengaluru. Maya Sherman, the Innovation Attaché and Orli Weitzman were integral to the discussions at the Global Digital Alliance, an event facilitated by the Government of Karnataka, which focused on the intersection of technology, innovation, and global partnerships.
A pivotal moment at the BTS was the panel discussion on "How Israeli Innovation is Transforming the Future," where five Israeli experts discussed cutting-edge developments across industries. The panel was moderated by Orli Weitzman, who set the tone for an insightful session. Maya Sherman started the discussion by sharing her thoughts on the evolving India-Israel tech collaboration and underscored the importance of responsible AI. She also spoke about her leadership in a project aimed at promoting AI literacy among farmers in India, a joint initiative under the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) and OECD.
Following Sherman's remarks, four pioneering tech leaders from Israel took the stage to share their experiences and insights on how Israeli innovation is making waves in South Asia. These experts included Eli Poplinger, CEO of Hygearfit Private Ltd., Bharath Sharma, Sales Manager for South & West India at Insightec, Nir Gendler, General Manager at Optronics Global Ventures, and Elie Luskin, Vice President at Mobileye. Their discussions spanned key technological advancements in areas like health tech, autonomous vehicles, and wearable technologies.
The interactive session also included a Q&A segment, allowing the audience to engage with the panelists and delve deeper into the potential for Israeli technologies to address challenges in the South Asian region. The discussion concluded with a powerful statement from Orli Weitzman, who emphasized the importance of Israeli innovation in driving forward global solutions and the need for deep, ongoing collaboration with India's vibrant tech ecosystem.
