INS Ranvir's Deployment in Chattogram: Enhancing Naval Cooperation between India and Bangladesh

Indian Naval Ship INS Ranvir, part of the Eastern Fleet under the Eastern Naval Command, arrived at Chattogram, Bangladesh on June 29, 2024, as part of its Operational Deployment.

This deployment follows the recent state visit of Ms. Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of Bangladesh, to India from June 21-22, 2024.

During its visit, INS Ranvir engaged in many professional interactions with personnel from the Indian and Bangladesh navies. These interactions included Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (SMEE), cross-deck visits, community outreach activities, and friendly sports fixtures. Engagements were aimed at bolstering existing mutual cooperation and maritime linkages between both navies and nations.

Following the harbor phase, INS Ranvir will participate in a Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) or PASSEX alongside ships of the Bangladesh Navy.

This visit underscores the enduring friendship and robust interoperability between India and Bangladesh, aligning with the Government of India’s strategic focus on Security and Growth for All in the Region (SAGAR).
