Indian AFMS Officers Excel at 43rd World Medical and Health Games in Saint-Tropez, France


From June 16 to June 23, 2024, four officers of the Armed Forces Medical Service (AFMS) of India achieved remarkable success at the 43rd World Medical and Health Games held in Saint-Tropez, France. Lt Col Sanjeev Malik, Maj Anish George, Capt Stephen Sebastian, and Capt Dania James collectively secured an unprecedented 32 medals, comprising 19 Gold, 9 Silver, and 4 Bronze medals.


The World Medical and Health Games, recognized as the premier sporting event for health professionals globally, draws comparisons to the Olympic Games in its scale and prestige. Established in 1978, this event attracts more than 2500 participants annually from over 50 countries, showcasing the athletic prowess and medical expertise of professionals dedicated to healthcare.


The stellar performance of the Indian AFMS officers not only underscores their individual excellence but also celebrates the synergy between medical proficiency and athletic achievement. Their success reflects the dedication and commitment of healthcare professionals worldwide who continually strive for excellence in both their medical practice and sporting endeavors.
