This meeting was convened for a comprehensive review of what has been achieved since the previous assembly of the forum held in August of 2024. It also served as an opening for ICFF's strategies and plans to be deliberate in 2025. One of the key issues discussed was making a Toolkit for newcomers aimed at assisting new entrants to the Czech Republic. This is an initiative to help newcomers integrate into society through dissemination of practical and necessary information to navigate their new environment.
The meeting also considered proposals for increasing engagement with Czech dignitaries next year. There was a suggestion for some meetings which would feature deeper bilateral ties and showcase the vibrant Indian community's contribution to Czech society. Another important recommendation discussed was the establishment of a mentorship program designed for the Indian community in Czechia, linking them with very seasoned professionals and community leaders as mentors.
ICFF members also gave a brief update on their recent activities to promote Indian culture, traditions, and values in the Czech Republic. The forum has thus evolved into an important space to showcase the variety and richness of Indian heritage as well as foster exchange between cultures. Each representative narrated all their upcoming programs over the next rotating cast, which include cultural festivals, community-building events, and educational outreach. These initiatives are seen as a way to further strengthen the bond between India and Czechia.
Common along these lines and at various key speeches, including that by Second Secretary Hemant Raj Sinha, consular matters were addressed. His update was particularly relevant as the embassy continues to support the growing Indian nationals from India living in the Czech Republic.
Rajnish Kumar, the Cultural Attache at the embassy, briefed the attendees on the mission's cultural activities, emphasizing cultural diplomacy as a need in the enhancement of bilateral relations. The embassy had taken an active part in organizing cultural events that showcased the unique heritage of India and brought about an unenlightened view among the people of both nations.
A highlight of this meeting was the induction of new office holders of ICFF, whose tenure stretches to December 2025. Members of the new team include Saurabh Pendharkar, Ramaa S., Madhu Kulkarni, Prabhjot Singh Gill, and Amol Kshirsagar. Their approach is expected to further drive the forum's objectives and enhance collaboration between Indian community groups with the wider Czech society.
ICFF was founded in August 2024 to unite all Indian community and cultural associations under one platform. The organization aims to bring India and the Czech Republic closer together through various kinds of cooperation in culture, business, education, and social integration. With this platform, the Indian diaspora can now interact with one another, the embassy, and Czech authorities meaningfully.
It ended on a positive note, with everyone expressing their optimism about the initiatives discussed and committing to furthering the goals of ICFF in the coming year. With continued support from both the Indian government and Czech authorities, the India-Czechia Friendship Forum is poised to play an increasingly important role in nurturing bilateral relations.
