Amb. Harsh Kumar Jain next Ambassador of India to Philippines.

Amb. Harsh Kumar Jain, currently Ambassador of India to Ukraine, has been appointed the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of the Philippines. He is expected to take up the assignment shortly.


Harsh Kumar Jain commenced his assignment at the Embassy of India in Kyiv on April 5, 2022. Throughout his diplomatic career, he has held various positions within the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi and abroad.


Previously, Harsh Kumar Jain served as India’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan from 2014 to 2017 and to the Slovak Republic from 2017 to 2018. Before these ambassadorial roles, he held diverse roles at Indian Missions in Moscow (1995-96), Kyiv (1996-98), St. Petersburg (1999-2002), London (2004-07), and Kathmandu (2007-11).


Furthermore, he contributed as a Member of the UN Group of Governmental Experts on the Developments in the Field of Information and Telecommunications in the context of International Security during 2012-13.


In various capacities at MEA headquarters in Delhi, he has served as the Head of the BIMSTEC and SAARC Division (2020-21), Global Estate Management Division (2019-20), and e-Governance, Information Technology, and Cyber Diplomacy Division (2011-14). Additionally, he served as a desk officer for Afghanistan from 2002 to 2004.
