CII Organizes 19th India Africa Business Conclave to Foster Bilateral Growth

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is set to host the 19th edition of its flagship CII India Africa Business Conclave from August 20 to 22, 2024, at Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi. In collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce & Industry and the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, this Conclave has evolved into a premier platform for senior ministers, policymakers, and business leaders from Africa and India across various sectors.

Since its inception in 2005, the CII Africa Conclave has facilitated crucial policy dialogues and business engagements between Africa and India. Over 18 editions, it has attracted leading policymakers from diverse African countries alongside prominent Indian political, government, and business figures.

The economic ties between India and Africa have seen substantial growth, with bilateral trade surpassing $100 billion in FY 2023-24 and Indian investments in the region rising significantly. The implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) has further bolstered prospects for intra-African trade and deeper economic integration, paving the way for expanded collaboration and new avenues.

The 19th edition aims to leverage India-Africa partnership to foster regional and global value chain integration. It will feature bilateral, trilateral, and regional discussions focusing on key sectors such as Agriculture & Food Processing, Defence, Digital Partnership, Financial Partnership, Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals, Infrastructure, Power and Energy, Quality Ecosystem, Skill & Capacity Development, and more.

This Conclave seeks to bolster Africa's growth trajectory through strategic partnerships while highlighting emerging opportunities for mutual benefit and sustainable development.
