Amb. Vijay Khanduja next High Commissioner of India to Cameroon




Amb. Vijay Khanduja, presently Ambassador of India to the Republic of Zimbabwe, has been appointed the next High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Cameroon. He is expected to take up the assignment shortly.


Vijay Khanduja assumed the role of Ambassador of India to the Republic of Zimbabwe on November 9, 2020. Before his current posting, he held the position of Director (UN Economic & Social) Division at the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi, starting in 2017.


Throughout his career, Vijay Khanduja has served in various capacities within the Government of India. His roles have encompassed economic, multilateral affairs, and general economic/commercial responsibilities during his tenure at the Embassy of India in Paris (1989-1992 and 2009-2012). He also undertook administrative and consular duties while stationed at the High Commission of India in Islamabad (1997-2000) and the Consulate General of India in Shanghai (2003-2006).


Additionally, Vijay Khanduja has engaged in political, cultural, and commercial endeavors while at the Embassy of India in Budapest (2014-2017), serving as First Secretary/Counsellor. He also managed bilateral relations with Bosnia & Herzegovina concurrently.


His experience extends to various roles at the Ministry of External Affairs Headquarters, including positions in the BSM (Bangladesh, Maldives, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka) Division, Policy Planning & Research Division, and CNV (Communication and Vigilance) Division.
