A New Era of Collaboration: Sweden Leads Largest Space Delegation to India

Sweden's State Secretary for Foreign Trade, Håkan Jevrell, led the largest-ever space delegation to India this week, heralding an exciting new chapter in space technology and innovation!



Håkan Jevrell inaugurated the first ever Sweden-India Space Industry Day in collaboration with Somanath S, Chairman of ISRO, and Pawan Goenka, Chairman of IN-SPACe. This landmark event showcased the deepening ties between the two nations in the realm of space exploration.


During productive bilateral discussions, Jevrell, Somnath S, Pawan Goenka, and senior officials acknowledged the robust successes of both Sweden and India’s space ecosystems. They explored opportunities to accelerate joint initiatives in key areas such as industry collaboration, market demands, space material supply, and the vital role of academia in driving innovation and mobility.



To further strengthen this partnership, the State Secretary extended a formal invitation to ISRO's Chairman for a future space delegation visit to Sweden, emphasizing that the focus of their cooperation will remain rooted in people, prosperity, and development.


The delegation also visited the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc), highlighting a commitment to scientific excellence and international collaboration. By embracing the Triple Helix model, which unites industry, government, and academia, both nations are poised to tackle shared challenges through innovative science and technology.
